I forgot to mention in my last post, claiming The Help for March's book pick, that Renee was the one who initially suggested The Help as a book club book for all of us to read. Thanks for throwing it out there, Renee.
The book swap was a success. I'm happy to know there are some other people out there interested in reading about Henry VIII and the Spanish Civil War... not as a combined topic, different yet equally interesting.

March's Unofficial Official Book
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and claim the book for March:
The Help, by Kathryn Stockett
You can read a synopsis of The Help from Kathryn Stockett's website by clicking here.
I've already read it, and I really enjoyed how the author developed every character and you really could understand everyone's perspective in explaining their actions during the Civil Rights Movement in 1962+ in Jackson, MS. Please read it, it's a wonderful novel.
On another note, if anyone is interested in posting suggestions for books for us all to read, or if you want to post a topic about a particular book, etc.. that would be awesome. But don't feel like you have to if you don't want to... I just hope you don't get sick of my posts.
Hope to see you all at Wildflower on Sunday afternoon! Keiko, I hope Erin can make it! If you don't have any books to swap, no biggie either.

Book Swap
Tessy and I are tossing around the idea to meet up for a book swap at Wildflower Bread Company in Mesa. We can all casually get together, bring a book or two to swap (or giveaway if that's what you wish. Tessy will collect a deposit for the books (ahem, children) she loans out... kidding!), and if you Wildflower seems like a great place because you can grab a dessert, dinner, drink.. whatever you feel like.
Tessy suggested Sunday afternoon, February 28th... how does that sound?
Is anyone interested in reading about the Spanish Civil War??? Because I have a ton of books on that. jk. I promise I'll bring something someone else would be interested in reading.

Hunger Games
Have you guys read this yet? Wow. It was really good. I get the feeling it could replace Twilight in the Mommies Who Love Young Adult Fiction Craze.
I am already Team Peeta.
Seriously, though. It's good. And so far I've only read the first book in a series of three, but I'm already anticipating the movie.
It's set is a dystopian future, and centers around a teenage girl, who, at times, is annoyingly unaware of the affections of others, but still manages to have a personality, and even some real fight in her (I'm looking at you Bella Swan).
My brother-in-law (a high school english teacher) says it's all the rage right now with the kids. Keiko, can you confirm?
It's a really fast read (finished 400+ pages in just a few hours) but it's also deeper than just the surface violence and romance. There are real themes here. Even tropes! I LOVE tropes! (Just being a literature nerd for a second there).
If you read it, let me know. I want to discuss this one with others.

I hear ya, Renee!
Does anyone, ANYONE want to pick out a book? I don't trust myself because my innocent picks are bound to end up with an R-rating.
OR, we can all just meet up, bring a favorite book of ours and do a swap (and eat and I'll drink a 2L of Diet DP all to myself. Renee, you're never gonna forget that, are you?)? Everyone's welcome to come to my house, but I know it's not necessarily close... and Keiko's got a brand-new-bebe..
OR, each of us can make a post on here of a book of our own that we like.. someone can request it and then that book owner sends the book to the lender?
OR, we can talk about something else on this book blog? Like about crazy family members? I like to vent about that. ;) Or just keep the blog solely about books.
